CHAPELS, SUBURBS & MACARONS
8:36 AM
I've always wondered if there was another city like Palo Alto... The answer is yes - but ten times fancier. We are still in Champagne, after the tour of Mercier we drove about 30 minutes up to the suburb area.
As you can see, it really is fancy. I don't think I could stay here for more than a few hours (which was exactly what we had) because everything here is so expensive! Although it's beautiful to walk around, the city is a bit limited to certain attractions.
We had lunch at a cafe (one that wasn't over 30 euros!) and because the menu was in French, I assumed "hamburger" was the typical bun-and-patty type. I should have expected something different because I got just the patty itself hehe. But it was still pretty good!
Finally, we decided to stop for some macarons. I don't know why I didn't get any and I completely regret it now... I think it was because I was 150% full from the lunch :(
We finished the trip off with a visit to the local Cathedral. It was stunning, and the glass murals were spectacular! I don't know what it is about colorful glass that just puts me in awe.
It's been a long day - we left in the morning and now we're getting on the bus and it's about 5 PM. I honestly can't wait to go home and get some rest!
