MOVING IN!

12:43 PM

BONJOUR MES AMIS! Comment allez-vous? After a 10 hour flight from SFO to CDG, it was time to finally say hello to my home for the next three months. The first thought that came to mind after we loaded ourselves onto the bus to the campus was "is this really happening?" I think a lot of people were thinking the same way (either that or they were dozing off). We were all greeted at the FIAP Jean Monnet, they gave us a mini tour of the campus and the surroundings. I was right - the sights were wonderful. From a bakery popping up around each corner and handsome french boys walking past, I knew that the next 90 days will be another adventure.

My roomate and one other girl stopped by our first French bakery while we took a  break from the mini tour :)

(She was brave enough to attempt to order in French for us)

When the apartments kids were settled into their new homes, it was us homestay kids turn to hop onto a taxi to our maisons. Faith and I were dropped off on a super narrow street with an access code for the apartment, nothing more. We were starting to panic when we noticed that all of the doors did not have any numbers or letter on it so we couldn't tell which one our host parents lived. As luck would have it, a man from the building walked past us as I desperately attempted in my mediocre French; "parlez-vous anglais" and "utiliser votre téléphone s'il vous plaît?" He was kind enough not only to help us find them but to carry our 50 pound luggage up the stairs and explain the complicated apartment doors to us. I hope I run into him again so I can thank him properly!

So... our apartment. The moment we walked in we were greeted by the parents who are super chill and very nice, and wasted no time giving us a tour of their place. As you might have noticed, it's very hippy/asian ethnic mixed.

There are plants all over the house - especially our room (oh and the bunk bed adds extra points).

I will take better quality pictures on my camera tomorrow after our Paris tour and orientation! I'm about to crash from exhaustion so bonne nuit!
