RIVER CRUISE & NEW FRIEND

4:59 PM

BONJOUR MON AMIS!! Today is officially the first day of school! I actually arrived 20 minutes earlier than I was suppose to and my professor was confused when I burst through the door - I thought I was late and he appreciated my enthusiasm, apparently. I was hesitant to sign up for a world religions class but as a GE credit and all the other philosophy classes taken, I said why not?

The two hours went by so quickly as our class of 20 discussed why we thought we were here (I can't even begin to tell you what kind of discussions we'll be having) and other deep ideas; it actually felt pretty refreshing to be in a class with others who have as much curiosity as I do!

During my one hour break I headed over to the same Italian restaurant I went to on Monday. They serve so fast here in Paris! I ordered a Margarita pizza and it came in about 5 minutes, and it was delicious as usual! I seriously don't know how they do this...

My second class was Art History - a four hour lecture. I felt so bad when I kept catching my professor's eye as my head bopped up and down, trying to keep myself awake. She gave us a 30 minute breather so I headed over to the small cafe in our school. The barista was there as usual and I was a bit hesitant to order in French because he seemed kind of intimidating at first but I went for it anyway. As I tried my best to say comment allez-vous? un café, s'il vous plaît, he laughed and asked "is that all you know how to say?" At first I thought he was serious but he introduced himself and I think we're bffs now, he promised he'd teach me some cool French words later.

Now onto the river tour! We got onto a boat like the picture underneath at Pont Neuf and sailed through the La Seine river. It was breathtaking - all the pictures should speak for themselves!

I didn't get to catch a picture of what I'm about to describe but imagine a sparkling eiffel tower in a dark lit sky - it was mesmerizing. We were all starving after the one hour tour so we headed over to a nice looking cafe called Pont Neuf Cafe. It was perfect because I was craving American food and they had this mouth watering cheese burger on the menu. The waiter was very patient with my French and even though he was very persistent about dessert, the ambiance was great and I hope to come back there soon!
