Day 14: Thrift Shopping

10:06 AM

So after school Laura and I decided to go back home (we're practically neighbors) and put our backpacks away so we can go explore more of London. It was a rainy/foggy day as usual so we needed to pack light, she said that we'd be going to be checking out Camden Town.

Apparently it's known for the Stables market -- a bunch of self owned stores selling their merchandise. Basically like a flea market!

This was just the beginning of the street, there were small stalls of gift shops and little botiques all over the place. I'll take more pictures of the outside when I go back this weekend!

It was like a maze inside... this was one of the first clothing stores we walked into.

Most of the stuff there wasn't that cheap :( Laura told me that we had to haggle/bargain for a cheaper price on whatever we wanted.

I've never done anything like that before so I was actually pretty nervous to be honest, she did it like a pro!

Laura walked into a shop and saw a sweater that she liked...

Basically just went up to the store owner...

Said she would buy it for 18 pounds...

(When it was originally 25) and the man said no at first but she was stubborn enough that she ended up getting it for 17! I was so impressed!

After some browsing we decided to take a walk back to the tube station.

I think that statue belonged to a casino...

Definitely going to try this mexican place next time we come!

Well, this is a nice look at the Stables market!

It wasn't that crowded thank god, but there were still enough that it was hard to find some place just to sit down and eat!

I feel like good weather is on my side because right when we decided to go out and get some food the sky cleared up and stopped raining!

I mean it wasn't as sunny as California but...

See???? Still pretty sunny for London!

We spent a good 3-5 hours just walking around, we were so exhausted by the end of the day...

Overall I loved it here, the people are so exciting and multi-cultural I heard so many different languages around me (even Japanese!)

Oh and a note about Starbucks -- IT'S SO OVERPRICED. I haven't gotten a single thing from there, I guess you could say I'm rebelling against it :(

We also saw the sunset walking back to the station! It was beautiful :,)

SPEAKING OF THE AVICII POSTER I'M EXPECTING THAT EVERYONE HAS ALREADY GOTTEN HIS NEW ALBUM, RIGHT???????????????????????

That's it for Camden Town! Until next time! :)
